For the seventh time in 10 years, TABC took first place in Lander College’s annual Model Beis Din competition. Competing against yeshivot from across the country, TABC debated the halachic propriety of purchasing human organs. Rav Sacks, the esteemed rosh yeshiva of Lander College, noted the impressive participation of all nine TABC team members. “The Model Beis Din was an exciting and creative way of demonstrating the dynamic nature of Halacha—how the Torah can inform and confront moral and legal challenges in the most sophisticated way. I was quite impressed with the caliber of the students’ presentations. They were creative, articulate and reflected a thorough knowledge of many mekoros. I am confident that they found this forum to be a most enriching experience,” said HaRav Yonason Sacks, Rosh HaYeshiva, Touro’s Lander College for Men Beis Medrash L’Talmud.
Special mention goes to senior captains Ariel Kryzman and Sariel Rotblat who did a yeoman’s job of organizing and assigning the speaking parts to each TABC team member. Last but certainly not least, kudos to Model Beis Din coach Rabbi Chaim Jachter whose renowned expertise in contemporary Halacha guided TABC to yet another victory!
