TABC Students Present Research Projects at Evening of Scholarship

Last Wednesday evening, ten exceptional student scholars presented at TABC’s annual Evening of Scholarship Program. The event provided an opportunity for the 10th graders in TABC’s Scholars Program to present the research projects they have been working on over the course of this year. Over this past year, the Scholars students each researched a topic that piqued their curiosity, and worked under the guidance of a mentor with expertise in their topic of choice. Topics ranged across a plethora of disciplines and included “The Imagination and Psychology Behind Disney Theme Parks,” “Abortion in Halacha,” “Understanding Video Game Narrative Design,” and “The Effects of Social Media on Teenage Mental Health” among many others.

Following their presentations, students were gifted the book “Lessons in Leadership” by the late Rabbi Lord Jonathon Sacks to celebrate their accomplishment completing the program. It was a truly impressive evening that left the students, their mentors and everyone involved with a tremendous sense of accomplishment. The TABC Scholars students who presented were sophomores Daniel Huerta, David Benisz, Ilan Nissel, Ohr Avishur, Gavi Kilimnick, Micah Cyrulnik, Shay Fields, Netanel Lipshitz, Jeremy Kessler and Gilad Jutkowitz. Special thanks go to Audi Hecht, Cary Riker and Rabbi Shaya First for running the Scholars program at TABC. Mazal tov to the Scholars on a successful year of independent research!
