TABC Takes Top Honors at CIJE

Fifty-nine TABC boys, accompanied by STEM Director Rabbi Aryeh Tiefenbrunn and alumnus Andy Rosenberg ‘22, presented 20 incredible engineering projects at this year’s CIJE Innovation Day. “Urn-Ease,” a project by sophomores Zach Krohn, Mayer Prager, and Logan Wagh, won Best Pitch and First Place in Engineering for Jewish Life! Their invention is a hot water urn with a kli sheini built into the dispensing mechanism. Special thanks to Rabbi Jachter for serving as the halachic advisor for that project!

A few other TABC groups earned awards as well. “Smart-Spot,” by juniors Yoel Gellman, Yehuda Harris and Akiva Sytner came in Second Place for Best Pitch, with its creative use of camera tracking technology to create an automated spotlight that can follow a specific actor on stage during a performance. “DHS (Door Hand Shocker)” by sophomores Jared Gutlove, Akiva Horn and Dovid Stadtmauer, earned Third Place for Best Pitch with its security door knob that shocks unwanted intruders if they don’t know the entry code. TABC is so proud of all its incredible engineers!
