Make that two! After winning the Glouberman Tournament in Los Angeles, the TABC senior varsity basketball team took home their second title at Camp Dora Golding this past Sunday at the much-hyped one-day varsity Yeshiva League basketball tournament. Despite the blazing sun, and the fact that they were coming off a jam-packed senior trip and little sleep, the Storm dominated the court game after game. After a big opening win against Waterbury, they clinched their spot in Tier 1. An opening round win against Magen David got the team going as they then rattled off wins against Yeshivah of Flatbush and MTA, ultimately locking in their spot in the championship game, a rematch against Magen David.
The game was back and forth with Magen David taking an early lead and holding on until the fourth quarter. It was then big play after big play, eventually leading to overtime after a huge 3-pointer from Ezra Baron. In overtime it was Zevi Samet hitting the big shot to put TABC in the lead for the last time, as the buzzer sounded shortly after. Welcome home to TABC’s newest hardware!
