TBO’s Player of the Week, for June 3-8 is Lakeland Bank’s (MG Division) Abigail Wahrhaftig.

In her first season in TBO, Wahrhaftig has quickly emerged as a team leader for her squad, with both her bat and her charisma. Wahrhaftig enjoyed a strong week at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a bases-loaded triple and an RBI single to put Lakeland ahead. She and her sister Maya make up a formidable pair, often pairing up on the left side of the infield for the team, with Abigail at shortstop and Maya at third.

As Lakeland coach Ron Siesser noted, “Abigail has quickly become a strong bat in the line-up, her lefty swing is reminiscent of the great George Brett who was among the most feared hitters of his time.”
