The eighth grade students of Tenafly Chabad Academy embarked on an incredible journey. Last week they began an intense and extensive study of the Holocaust and World War II. This is an interdisciplinary unit in which Holocaust learning will take place across the curriculum. The unit began with a viewing of the movie, “The Wave,” which helped the students understand the causes and effects of Hitler’s rise to power. Students wrote brief reflections after viewing the film. The unit will last for approximately two months and the girls will gain tremendous knowledge and understanding. They will also have a binder which will serve as a memento of their study as well as a resource for future study.
