In culmination of completing parshat Shelach and specifically for learning the parsha of tzitzit, middle school students at Tenafly Chabad Academy were privileged to have Rabbi Grossbaum from Living Legacy present an informative, hands-on, interactive workshop on the mitzvah of tzitzit. After hearing and discussing the meaning behind this special mitzvah and the various halachot involved, each student got to practice tying their own set of tzitzit. They were given a set of four strings, folded in half to make eight. They then practiced tying the knots and wrapping the strings the correct number of times around, thereby creating a sample of what tzitzit looks like. The students left the workshop with a deep sense of pride and accomplishment.
