Tenafly Chabad Academy

Shushan Purim at Tenafly Chabad Academy was an amazing day. Students and teachers came dressed in fabulous costumes. In middle school, the day started with an uplifting davening. Then students played a fun, interactive Purim game show, showing off their knowledge of Purim. Students then participated in a Mystery Mordechai game, surprised eachother with small gifts, and learned who their mystery giver was on Shushan Purim. Older students also spent time with preschool students, with the girls doing face painting and the boys dancing. Middle schoolers got to show off their culinary skills in a “Chopped” competition, where everyone was amazed with the delicious dishes.

Lower school students had fun parties and games in their classrooms, and a face painting and a photo booth. First and second graders got to ride ponies just like Mordechai did in the Purim story.

Another special part of the day was when TCA students paid a visit to the residents at Family of Caring Rehabilitation Center across the street. Students spent time with the residents there, sharing Purim songs with their neighbors. They showed off their costumes and musical skills, and sang Purim songs. TCA loves the special relationship between the residents and the children who learn from each other and contribute to the beautiful community at Tenafly Chabad Academy.
