The Humble Toast Sportstar Of the Week: Noah Kaufthal

The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Noah Kaufthal as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The rising fourth grader at the Solomon Schechter School of Bergen County was a key contributor to the 9U TBO Travel Team this summer. TBO 9U Coach Jason Demby told The Jewish Link, “It was an honor to coach Noah in the Teaneck TBO 9U travel baseball team this summer—a relief from being his BBO opponent and defending against his propensity for towering hits! While Noah is already one of the best baseball players in his age group, what impressed me the most was his attitude as a humble and steady leader who showed up every day trying to improve his game and help his team. Noah powered our travel team’s run to the playoffs as the team leader in batting average (.409) and RBIs (7) and his great fielding at first base. The humility doesn’t fall far from the tree, as Noah was supported by his family at every game, including his brother Jacob who volunteered as team statistician!”

Noah’s AAU basketball coach John Kagan added, “Noah is a very coachable athlete who makes teaching enjoyable due to both his maturity and well-mannered temperament. He works hard to maximize his natural abilities but what truly sets him apart is how he engages as a great, supportive teammate who also sets a standard on how to conduct himself within the medium of sport. Youth sports is an opportunity to not just compete and achieve dreams and goals, but to also nurture life lessons that go beyond athletics and Noah has proven that his potential as a human being off the court is even more impressive than all the great things he can do with a basketball. Simply, he’s a great kid.”
