One of the most important parts of The Idea School’s Project-Based Learning model is the students’ Presentations of Learning (POLs). Instead of a traditional final exam, students present their learnings over the semester to an audience of their teachers and parents. This presentation is a student’s personal reflection of the semester where students share their projects, what they were most proud of and where they felt they needed and wanted to grow in the semester to come. They are also asked to reflect and discuss their growth and development in the skills of collaboration, communication, self-advocacy and initiative; all skills that are naturally built into the projects and that students will need for the real world.
