The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize almost-eight year old Ethan Sussman as this week’s Sportstar of the week. Ethan loves everything about being a member of the Bergen Broncos. He looks forward to the practices, games and mini camps. Sussman plays as much basketball and hockey as he can, filling in with golf, baseball, swimming and soccer. Eric Sussman told The JLNJ that his son “has been asking for tennis lessons” as well.
Ethan, who is your role model and why?
My Dad because he shows me how to be a good person.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Ryan Mcdonagh because he’s captain of the Rangers and because I love playing hockey. And because I met him.
What is your earliest sport memory?
Hitting a ball in the backyard.
What is your funniest sports memory?
I guess when my dad accidently knocked out my tooth with a football.
What is your favorite sports memory?
I was golfing with my dad and he set me up about 40 yards out on a par 5 and handed me an 8 iron. The ball carried 35 yards to the green and then rolled past the hole about 20 feet up a slope and rolled back down right in the hole. My dad never had a hole in one.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
Playing Xbox
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
I’m not really sure. I love playing sports because I like the exercise and playing with my friends. I definitely like winning better than losing. I always try and help my team win.
