The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 16-year-old Eitan Pfeiffer as this week’s sportstar of the week. The sophomore at the Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) is having a terrific basketball season. Averaging close to twenty points per game in the regular season, he kicked it up to almost thirty points per in the Rubenstein Memorial Tournament last month.
When asked about his sharpshooting guard, MTA Junior Varsity coach Yaakov Mayers told The JLNJ, “Eitan has been playing great so far this season. He continues to work hard and put in the extra effort to take his game to a new level. Along with a bunch of his other talented teammates, when Eitan is on his game, we are a very tough team to beat.”
This is not Eitan’s first taste of success. He was a freshman starter and all-star for last year’s MTA team and winner of the MGBL championship in two of the last three years. Pfeiffer’s Junior High coach told The JLNJ, “Eitan is the ultimate clutch player. The bigger the game, the more intensity he brings. I remember a playoff game, we were on the road and the home crowd was chanting, ‘Can anyone guard Pfeiffer?’ ”
Eitan, congrats on the first half of another amazing season. Who would you say are your role models?
My parents are my biggest role models because they are always making sure to do the right thing and they set an amazing example for me.
