What a wonderful time The Moriah School early childhood enjoyed in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut! They started their day off with an EC chagiga! The children then “visited Israel.” All of the activities in “A Taste of Israel,” related in some way to Eretz Yisrael. The children enjoyed Israel-related art activities—creating sand necklaces in Eilat and writing special notes to Hashem and placing them in their very own Kotel in Yerushalayim. They then prepared pita and enjoyed it for a snack with some chocolate spread in “the Shuk.” They rounded out their visit with ice cream on the beach in Tel Aviv. The children ordered their ice cream in Hebrew and chose if they wanted sprinkles on top. All of the activities were conducted in Hebrew—as if they were really in Israel! As a finale to this wonderful day, the early childhood department gathered together and marched in a parade around the school, with flags held aloft and voices raised in song. A fun day was had by all!
