I enjoyed Rabbi Hoffman’s article in the Jewish Link this past Shabbat (“Gebrochts: An Overview,” March 23, 2023).
Since observance of gebrochts is rooted in minhag, familial geography and history, it would have been helpful if you added the year your sources lived and their country of origin. For example, the Magen Avrohom (1635-1682 Poland). I fully understand that you were restricted to space and perhaps did not have that luxury. Like most readers in my generation, my early yeshiva education failed to enlighten me whether commonly quoted meforshim were Rishonim, Achronim, Ashkenazim, Sephardim, European, North African, Babylonian, or even if they lived in our generation. Minhagim and even halachot of Pesach, unlike any other chag, have meaning in knowing that.
Thanks again for a great article. Chag Sameach.
