The Therapeutic Nursery at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is now taking registration for a toddler socialization group for children ages 2-3, who are experiencing delays in language acquisition or socialization skills. The goal of this class is to facilitate age-appropriate play, social interaction with peers and increased communication skills through structured group activities in art, music, story time and other sensory-motor activities. The group will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m., on an ongoing basis.

Parents are an integral part of the program, and an adult caregiver must accompany the child to class. Nursery staff and parents work together to develop strategies for dealing with behavioral difficulties at home and in the community. Guidance for entering the preschool years will also be provided.
