Tizmoret held its annual winter concert on December 8 at Ramaz in Manhattan. Directed by Daniel Henkin since 1996, Tizmoret is Queens College Hillel’s professional Jewish a cappella group.

This year’s concert featured solos by four “Tiz” members who reside in Jewish Link communities. The Jewish Link’s Eliana Birman of Teaneck sings alto I.; Matan Chananashvili, formerly of Hillside, sings tenor. Tali Isaacs of Teaneck is an alto I, and Eitan Davidovics of Teaneck sings bass. The concert featured several adaptations of retro pop music, pop Hebrew tunes and the group’s traditional finale, “Amen,” as well as a harmonious birthday salute to an audience member celebrating her special day.

Tizmoret alums in the audience were surprised by an invitation to join the group on stage for the finale, adding impact with the auxiliary vocal power of an extra dozen talented voices.
