Transitions: Oil Paintings by Judith Brice

Waltuch Art Gallery: February 4-27

Meet the Artist Reception: Thursday, Feb 5, 6 p.m.

Transitions, an exhibition of abstract expressionist oil paintings by Judith Brice, will be on display during the month of February at the Waltuch Gallery of the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 East Clinton Avenue, Tenafly, NJ, with a special opening reception on Tuesday, February 5 at 6 pm.

Judi Brice has always been passionate about design. After receiving a BA in Marketing from Hofstra University, she worked in the wholesale jewelry business, both selling and designing, and later worked at Cartier. After raising three children with her husband Michael, Judi spent ten years studying art appreciation, attended gallery tour courses given by the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, and decided to paint her own work.

Using her inner compass as her guide, Judi creates compositions that explore color and evoke an inner emotional landscape. She works primarily in oil on canvas, but also has a passion for collage, inspired by her teacher, Harriet Finck, where she often incorporates printed images of her paintings. Judi works at her studio in Haworth, NJ, and is a member of Studio Montclair in Montclair, NJ and the National Association of Women in the Arts in New York City.

Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday and Sunday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; closed Saturday and Jewish holidays. Admission is free and open to the community. For more information contact Jessica Spiegel, 201.408.1426 or visit the JCC website at www.jccotp.org.
