Treating the World and Animals With Kindness

In this week’s parsha, Moshe discusses more laws, including not mixing different seeds together in planting or plowing an ox and donkey together. This is because we care for animals. If you want to skip meat this week, here is a yummy vegetarian recipe my mom makes with tofu.

Ingredients:

One block extra-firm tofu, drained and cut into slices or cubes

⅓ cup soy sauce

¼ cup water

3 teaspoons sesame oil

3 teaspoons rice vinegar

3 tablespoons brown sugar

3 teaspoons honey

1-2 frozen ginger cubes

2-3 frozen garlic cubes

Directions:

1. Mix sauce ingredients together and marinate tofu overnight or for a few hours.

2. Bake in the oven for one hour and broil each side for a few minutes.

Serve warm.

Enjoy!
