As The Jewish Link went to print on our Pesach edition this past Monday evening, we received an update on the health and condition of Bergenfield’s Michael Goldsmith. Michael has been fighting COVID-19 for a month now and is still on a ventilator. According to his wife, Elana, his doctors are decreasing his reliance on the ventilator and starting to take him off sedation, with a goal of waking him as soon as possible. He is opening his eyes a bit, although not following commands as of yet because he’s still very weak. Over the next few days, the doctors plan to continue lowering the sedation levels and attempt to remove the ventilator tube. Overall, the virus appears to be gone from his system and his scans are all positive and clear. Elana emphasizes that this will be a slow process and that we should still be davening for him.
