Veroba and Elbaz Enliven the Doghouse on Chanukah

The sixth night of Chanukah this year will be remembered as one for the books. Gershon Veroba and the Teaneck Doghouse hosted the Gershon Veroba “Ani Yisrael” album release, part of which was emceed and broadcasted live by Nachum Segal on the Nachum Segal Network. Friends and people in the music business showed up, like Gershon’s new discovery, composer of four of the album’s songs, Simcha Kranczer; co-producer Yossi Zweig; and Sam Ash.

One of the highlights of the evening was the live performance between Gershon and Israeli superstar Gad Elbaz, who have a duet on the album. Gad indicated his long relationship with Veroba and how wonderful it was working together on Im Eshkocheich, and then they surprised the crowd by performing it live. Everyone was astounded that these two music giants could be as good live as they are on the album (maybe even better). They then went on to perform one of the biggest English anthems Gershon has written to-date, “Let Me Be,” also on the album and reportedly on a new video due out by spring. People were amazed at the comradeship between the Veroba and Elbaz, seeing how easily they performed off the cuff.

Albums were sold and signed, special pocket mirrors with the “Ani Yisrael” cover design were given out as a keepsakes and many are calling it the highlight of Chanukah this year.
