Virtual and In-Person Chocolate-Making Classes at Coco Jolie

(Courtesy of Coco Jolie) Coco Jolie Fine Chocolates & Confections has just launched a virtual “Introduction to Chocolate Making” course as well as single-topic, in-person lessons at their store and production kitchen at 12 N. Dean Street in Englewood.

The online course has six pre-recorded video lessons plus supplementary, downloadable materials and recipes, and will also have live, virtual meet-ups to answer questions and discuss class work. Resources for ingredients and equipment are also provided.

Students will learn the history and science of chocolate production, as well as techniques for making lots of tasty treats such as bonbons, truffles, bars and other products. This basic foundational course will enable students to take subsequent, higher-level courses (coming soon!), or simply use their newfound knowledge to get creative and wow their friends with amazing chocolate delicacies.

The in-person lessons will be limited to four students per class, and all work stations will be set up ahead of time and socially distanced. Temperature will be checked upon entering and masks must be worn at all times.

These lessons will give students the opportunity to learn in a professional chocolate-production kitchen and topics will include tempering, bars, truffles, garnishes and more.

All classes (virtual and in person) are taught by Miriam Gitelman, chef and owner of Coco Jolie. Miriam is a graduate of the International Culinary Center’s Professional Pastry Program and has studied with master chocolatiers around the world.

Students ages 14 and up are welcome to either the online or in-person classes.

Learn more and sign up at www.cocojolie.com/academy, or contact Miriam with any questions at 201-771-1414 or [email protected].

Looking forward to seeing you in class!
