Almost 500 Westchester Day School students, faculty and families showed up in record numbers on Sunday, June 2, to celebrate and march for Israel Day on Fifth. Though only students in grades four-eight are required to march, WDS families showed up with students from every single grade! The sea of beautiful blue T-shirts, designed by faculty members Morah Meitav Feldman and Morah Deena Zlotnick, were bright and vibrant, just like the ruach (spirit) of the delegation!! Crowds, heat and long security lines couldn’t keep students away because at the core of the WDS community is the shared commitment to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael. And the best part? Watching students behave like mensches even in challenging conditions. Every police officer and parade staffer received an avalanche of “thank yous.” WDS was so proud of its collective comunity!! Am Yisrael Chai!
