WDS Kindergarteners Get a Taste of Parsha

Kindergartners at Westchester Day School have established a new and yummy tradition. It all began when Gan Gefen created rainbow challot to share with Gan Tamar during the week of Parshat Noach. The Gan Tamar students loved the colorful and tasty challot so much, they said, “We think we should make them a Shabbat treat next week!” This began a wonderful tradition that has continued each week. From star shaped cookies to represent the stars that Avraham gazed at in Parshat Lech Lecha to an angel cake decorated with a chocolate licorice ladder and confectioner sugar angels for Parshat Vayetzei, children have enjoyed creating a taste of Torah to accompany and celebrate the learning of each parsha. Most recently, after learning about the sheep that Yakov gifted to Eisav, everyone enjoyed whimsical sheep made from graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate frosting! One student exclaimed, “Torah never tasted so good!”
