It really has been an AMAZing week in the WDS third grade as they have reached the culmination of their Amazon rainforest study! The children spent the first few days of the week finishing up their rainforest animal research projects, collecting final pieces of research, editing their drafts, and typing or handwriting their final copies to be presentation ready. Later in the week, they split into two groups and shared with first grade kindergarten.
It was such a special experience for the children to participate in. The children all got the chance to walk in the shoes of a teacher, sharing all that they learned with their younger peers. Those who were nervous beforehand shared that they felt really proud of themselves afterwards and had a lot of fun. The children had so much to teach and so much to learn from each other!
