The Kushner Cobras middle school hockey team won Monday night, November 27, by a score of 5-3 over WDS Wild. The game started approximately an hour late due to traffic for WDS but despite the late start the stands were full of energy provided by the many fans who were there. It seemed like the refs’ whistles were blowing the entire game. There were five goals scored by five different players over the course of the game. Alex Tennenberg, Yonatan Nativ, Sammy Leeds, Jack Salomon and Eli Tarzik each put one in the back of the net with Jacob Rak helping on offense. The tough defense of Yonatan Nativ, Isaac Scherzer, Sammy Leeds, Brandon Felderman and Max Kurlander and another great game from goalie Shai Merlin kept WDS from threatening late in the game. The win was really terrific, and this reporter can’t wait to see what they pull off next.
