Winning Streak Continues for MTA JV Basketball Lions

Coming off a five game winning streak, the MTA JV basketball Lions were feeling good as they headed into their second to last game of the season against Westchester on Thursday, January 10. The starters started off the game strong as usual, then the bench capped off the win. Shai Friedman came in the clutch with a career high of 14 points. Shmuli Nerenberg created many shots with his many assists and Eli Sheer had a James Harden-like crossover on a Westchester guard. Isaac Rubenstein scored a few points, but his passing was key to many other points. It was also a big game for Akiva Coan, Gershon Colton and Aron Skoczylas, who grabbed many offensive boards and put them back up for easy second chance points. At the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard read 46-7 MTA. Great offensive passing and lockdown defense led to this and a final score of 72-18. The team was happy with the win and team members are also excited for superstar Yosef Zakon, who will join the Team USA Junior League basketball team and play in the Maccabi games in Budapest this summer.
