In these trying times, WTA lower school students are focusing on gratitude—to our soldiers, Israel’s allies, and those who speak out for Israel and Am Yisrael. After listening to excerpts from President Biden’s speech about Israel, students wrote letters to the president, thanking him for his support. Those letters, along with thousands of letters from students throughout the Jewish community, were personally delivered to President Biden by Rabbi Shay Schachter, showing the president that the leaders of tomorrow are invested in what happens today.

Also, a WTA alumnus who made aliyah traveled back to the U.S., bringing with him the materials for cutting and tying tzitzit for Tzahal. Middle school rebbeim taught a shiur about the halachot of tzitzit and then students had the opportunity to cut fabric and tie tzitziot. It was an important experience in the mitzvah of tzitzit and of solidarity with Israeli soldiers. Today, those tzitziot are already back in Eretz Yisrael, protecting our chayalim from harm.
