This past week, WTA eighth-grade students participated in an unforgettable milestone of the “Names, Not Numbers©” program, interviewing two Holocaust survivors, Professor Asher Matathias and Mrs. Annie Kleinhaus. Since the start of the school year, the students have been deeply engaged in learning about the Holocaust, visiting the Museum of Jewish Heritage, preparing thoughtful questions, and acquiring video production and editing skills. Following the final interview, the students had a meaningful session with Rabbi Menchel, exploring how to maintain emunah in the face of events like the Holocaust. These experiences provided a powerful opportunity to preserve history, deepen understanding and connect with living witnesses. WTA students eagerly anticipate their final event, where they will view the completed documentary and reflect on the profound lessons learned.
