(Courtesy of YIOT) Young Israel of Teaneck, in partnership with Yad Leah, held a successful and meaningful Aseret Yemei Teshuva Chesed Event. Prior to the event, the YIOT community gathered and donated thousands of pieces of beautiful new and gently used clothing for Israel, and then on Sunday, October 2, nearly 60 parents and children joined together to sort, fold and pack over 100 boxes of clothes to send to Israel’s needy. The clothing will provide warmth, comfort and joy to thousands of families in Israel this winter. Rebbetzin Chani Krohn said: “The Yad Leah clothing drive at our shul really captured the Young Israel of Teaneck community—people who care to show up and do chesed, often in times of need for each other, and in this case even for those in need in Israel.”
