Yavneh Academy middle schoolers were proud to participate in a November Yad Leah campaign. It all began with a presentation by Jessica Katz, director of Yad Leah, who shared information with Yavneh’s middle school students about the incredible work the organization does in collecting new and gently-used clothing which is then shipped off to dozens of communities in Israel and distributed to families in need. Katz described how students can play a role in defraying the costs of shipping the thousands of bins of clothes so desperately needed to Israel, by participating in the Yad Leah Dash for Dignity one mile or a five kilometer run.
At the run, over 50 students enjoyed the good weather and the school spirit. Yavneh also ran a clothing drive to collect clothes for Yad Leah from November 4-11. The Yavneh Academy Chesed Team helped pack up the clothes so they can be delivered to the Yad Leah warehouse. And, to top it all off, all tzedaka collected in all the minyanim and classrooms this month will be dedicated to Yad Leah. The Chesed Team will again be overseeing the collection of those funds. Yavneh is so proud to partner with Yad Leah!
