(Courtesy of Yavneh Academy) The Yavneh Academy 18th Annual Golf, Fitness and Tennis Outing, held on July 10, was a resounding success, bringing together parents, supporters, friends and community members for a day of fun, friendly competition and fundraising. Held at the picturesque Alpine Country Club, the event showcased the school’s commitment to fostering a sense of community while supporting its educational initiatives.
The golfers, grouped into teams of four, embarked on an 18-hole scramble format tournament. Each team showcased their skills, engaging in friendly banter and good-natured competition as they navigated the challenging course. Participants of all skill levels were able to enjoy the game, thanks to the inclusive and supportive atmosphere that prevailed throughout the day.
Throughout the course, various challenges and activities added to the excitement. Longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests sparked intense rivalries, while putting challenges tested participants’ precision and finesse. The occasional burst of applause and laughter echoed across the fairways creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and enjoyment.
As the tournament progressed, volunteers provided food, refreshments and snacks at strategically placed stations, ensuring that participants stayed energized and hydrated throughout the day. Local businesses generously sponsored these stations highlighting their commitment to supporting the school and its initiatives.
Meanwhile, the women relaxed by the pool in the sun, took part in several fitness classes, played tennis and of course enjoyed delicious food. Certified trainers Arielle Sheinbein and Tiffany Diamond led group fitness classes, encouraging participants to break a sweat and stay active. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to try new workouts, learn from experts and connect with fellow fitness enthusiasts.
Following the golf tournament, the attendees gathered for a delicious buffet dinner at the clubhouse. Laughter filled the air as golfers and non-golfers alike shared stories and celebrated the day’s successes. Winners for the day were announced, sponsors and volunteers were thanked and Golf Co-Chairs Shneur Gershuni, Yalli Hakalir, Eric Moerdler and Jeremy Nussbaum, Women’s Fitness Co-Chairs Erika Gershuni and Daniela Pomerantz, and Yavneh’s Annual Raffle Co-Chairs Gali Goodman and Keren Nussbaum were thanked for all their hard work as well.
