Yeshiva University Soccer Stays on Winning Path

The Yeshiva University men’s soccer team kept the ball rolling as they opened their 2015 Skyline Conference schedule with an impressive start last Wednesday against Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, prevailing 6-2.

Freshman forward Julian Ribak had his best game thus far for the Maccabees, scoring two goals and assisting on two others. Junior forward Itamar Ben David posted one goal and one assist, totals matched by senior midfielder Daniel Amar. Junior forward Adir Alon and sophomore midfielder Aaron Braun both added goals.

After giving up the opening goal to Sarah Lawrence junior Tahmid Munat, Yeshiva answered with four consecutive goals, going into halftime tied at one and ultimately rising to 4-1. Braun’s goal – scored off a cross from the left corner in the 57th minute – would prove the eventual game-winner.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maor Feinstein recorded five saves for Yeshiva, who outshot Sarah Lawrence 29-11.

The Maccabees are now 2-2 overall and 1-0 against conference opponents.
