Proving once again that science can be both fascinating and hard to swallow, the seventh graders created a simulation of the digestion system by grinding corn flakes, ‘digesting’ them in acid (vinegar) and water, and then passing them through intestines (stockings). This fun and engaging experiment was sure to help students remember the digestive process as they learn about more functions in their biology unit.
