As a culmination of their unit study on immigration and to prepare for their upcoming Project-Based-Learning unit: The Ellis Island Simulation, Yeshivat He’Atid third-graders took a wonderful field trip to the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. During the trip, students had the opportunity to ride the ferry past the Statue of Liberty and visit the Ellis Island Museum for an interactive experience. Throughout their visit, they were able to see first-hand the place they have been learning so much about. They not only learned about all the components of the immigration process, but enjoyed the exhibits that featured artifacts and photographs from so long ago. After the trip, the students had a chance to stop by the New Jersey 9/11 memorial.
