The pre-K, kindergarten and first grade students at Yeshivat He’Atid collaborated with medical students attending Einstein College of Medicine to spread cheer to patients at Weiler Hospital in the Bronx. The children learned about Project Kindness, a program which allows the medical students to visit patients on non-medical visits. The He’Atid students created cards for the doctors-in-training to bring to the patients on their visits. Project Kindness ensures the medical students learn to care for the whole patient and teaches them the value of communication in patient-centered care. The children were happy to make cards for the patients and wrote uplifting notes for them.
