Yiddle League Starts Spring Training Games

(Yiddle League) B”H the skies cleared by Sunday afternoon which enabled the Yiddle League season to begin with its spring training games. With first-timers joining the veterans amongst the 470 plus boys bli ay”h, ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade, it was great to see the boys back playing baseball at the various locations in Passaic and Clifton. Like past seasons, boys from other communities such as Bergenfield, Edison and Monsey participated. In order to impress upon the participants the importance of playing in a safe manner as well as the distinction between “Yiddle League” and “Little League,” Scott Rothenberg, a partner of the Rothenberg Law Firm and the co-commissioner, addressed every single boy. In addition, the boys were reminded to not lose sight of the fact that having fun was more important than emerging victorious which is not the case in other recreational leagues. With sponsors like The Jewish Link of New Jersey, Yiddle League was able to continue to provide an opportunity for the boys to participate for a nominal registration fee. For over two decades, Yiddle League has been synonymous with boys having fun and playing with derech eretz.
