Yikes, Not Another Online Dinner Gala!

Revamping your PR, marketing and fundraising strategy in the era of COVID.

Is the mere thought of planning your organization’s next online fundraising gala or postponing it for the third time stressing you out? Looking for a refreshing approach to marketing in today’s COVID climate? Need a new PR or ad campaign to shake things up? Our clients are answering “yes” to most of the above, and are either lacking the resources or PR skills to implement these projects.

The mission of CAUSE Solutions Group is to help your organization refresh its approach to PR, marketing and special events/fundraising, not just to survive, but to thrive. The agency’s moniker, CAUSE, is named aptly as we are driving publicity, for a cause—the Jewish and/or nonprofit community.

Now is an ideal time to change up your logo and implement a rebranding campaign. Major corporations and organizations such as YouTube, Visa, General Motors, Pfizer and even the CIA changed up their logos during the pandemic. Minimalism, confidence, strength and nostalgia are some of the recurring themes in the new logos this past year.

Consider sprucing up your website, revamping your newsletter and generating some positive buzz in the media. Nike orchestrated a brilliant marketing campaign during the pandemic, showcasing the ways its athlete endorsers stayed in shape, and introduced a free exercise app to complement it. What better way to remind people about the Nike brand during COVID and make a positive association with it. Vogue may have rated APL as the top Women’s running shoe for 2022 and Veja might be Bloomingdale’s hot seller, but we bet that Nike’s app users will remain loyal to the brand.

Not only will good PR generate more awareness for the good your organization is doing, but as a nonprofit it will enhance your fundraising efforts and grow your constituency base. For the business sector, a strategic PR campaign will help you land more clients or buyers. Some organizations may underestimate the value of positive PR, but particularly when your organization is not a household name like Nike or Visa, publicity is absolutely vital to building your brand.

Targeted advertising campaigns are another effective way to create awareness, particularly when it is event-specific. In addition to newspapers and magazines, there are a plethora of advertising venues ranging from online news sites and social influencer plugs to billboards and digital signage. Particularly in the digital world, there are many highly targeted marketing opportunities.

Back to the event circuit … Potential donors are tiring of the next online dinner gala, even with perks like deluxe charcuterie boards and bottles of Covenant Chardonnay Reserve for major sponsors. Others are still fearful of attending a live dinner gala with unmasked food consumption. Besides, what awful PR would it be to host the event known as the community’s “super spreader”?

Many also forget to put the fun factor in each event. When people are taking the time out of their crazy busy schedules to attend your event, even if it’s for tzedakah, they still want to have fun. Events need to be rethought, by throwing in a fun component, switching up the format, and/or offering something novel, as most organizations will not be able to shell out big bucks to hire A-listers to draw the masses.

Our three founding team members have a proven track record and expertise in each area they head up: PR/Marketing—Special Events—Fundraising. We will create a customized plan to meet the unique needs of your organization. From soup to nuts, we can handle every detail, so you can free up your time focusing on your core responsibilities.
