YU Appoints Harman as VP and CFO

New York—Yeshiva Univer­sity President Richard M. Joel recently announced the ap­pointment of Jacob “Jake” Har­man as the new Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Fi­nancial Officer.

Harman will lead the Uni­versity’s finance functions and play an integral role in devel­oping and implementing fi­nancial and operational plans to support and meet the stra­tegic goals set by the Univer­sity. He will serve on the exec­utive cabinet and work closely with Senior Vice President Josh Joseph on numerous strategic initiatives.

“Yeshiva University is a ter­rific organization that plays an important role in our communi­ty at large,” said Harman. “I look forward to working with leader­ship in developing and imple­menting financial plans to sup­port the University’s strategic objectives.”

Prior to joining YU, Har­man spent his career at KPMG where he most recently served as a senior audit partner in the firm’s Office of General Coun­sel. Previously, he was a partner in several areas of KMPG’s ac­tivities, including its Assurance, Forensic, and Mergers and Ac­quisition Practices. Harman is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of sci­ence degree with a concentra­tion in accounting from Brook­lyn College. He is a member of the American Institute of Cer­tified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Cer­tified Public Accountants, and was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Village of Woodsburgh, New York.
