The family of Joan Gluckauf Haahr was everything to which German Jews aspired. Polished. Educated. Steeped in national culture and identity. Little by little they watched their dreams, their friends, and ultimately their lives go down in flames after Hitler’s rise to power.
Come hear Haahr’s talk on her new book, “Prisoners of Memory,” which focuses on her relatives’ ordeal, an unfolding horror shared by many who could trace their roots in Germany, yet under Nazi racial law became pariahs.
The talk will be held on Wednesday, February 16 from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m/ ET. The event URL will be sent via registration email.
