Ben Porat Yosef initiated a new program, specifically for eighth grade students, called Tzeydah LaDerech, (“provisions for the road”). The program is a guest speaker series designed to provide the graduating students, during their last few months in elementary school, with opportunities to explore themes related to emunah, tefillah and ahavat Hashem together with visiting community leaders and educators. On Tuesday, March 29, the school welcomed Rabbi Laurence Rothwachs of Congregation Beth Aaron, who learned with the students and explored with them the hidden connections between Purim, Pesach and entering high school. The session provided the students with a chance to interact with Rabbi Rothwachs and forge a connection with him, while allowing them the occasion to delve into some deeper spiritual themes of Yahadut.
