BPY Students Score Top Honors in National Noetic Math Contest

Ben Porat Yosef math enrichment students in grades two through six, participated in the first part of a semi-annual, country-wide math contest that focuses on problem-solving skills, sponsored by Noetic Learning. The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) is geared towards elementary and middle school students, who are given 45 minutes to solve 20 problems that are challenging and require out-of-the-box thinking. The students scoring in the top 50% of participating students in the country receive Honorable Mention, with their names published on the NLMC website; students scoring in the top 10% of students in the country receive National Honor Roll medals; and the highest scorer of each team receives a Team Winner medal. Scoring in the top 10% nationwide were fifth graders Isaac Kantowitz (also Team Winner medalist), Gavi Pinsky and Yair Zell, who each received National Honor Roll designation. Scoring in the top 50% nationwide were fifth graders Yonatan Farkas, Bernie Bersson, Natanel HaLevi, Isaac Dyckman, Erin Drazen, Peri Teten and Sammy Bensoussan, and sixth graders Ariella Weinberg (also Team Winner medalist), Judah Lopkin, Ethan Silver and Joshua Jeross, who each received Honorable Mention for this year’s fall contest.
