(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Members of the Bris Avrohom Shul made a trip to the Ohel to learn, pray and farbreng in honor of Yud Shevat, marking the 75th anniversary since the Rebbe assumed leadership. The evening began with learning the ma’amar of Matan Torah, followed by praying at the Ohel, and concluded with a farbrengen.

Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky led the farbrengen and then asked that each person consider giving a gift to the Rebbe. He emphasized that a gift to the Rebbe is through increasing in Torah and mitzvot. Furthermore, he stressed that one should not commit to something that comes easily, but to make a sacrifice that would make the Rebbe proud.

Rabbi Kanelsky explained that one meaning of the word “mitzvah” is connection. If one wants to forge a connection to the Rebbe, and receive blessings from God, one needs to strengthen in his mitzvot. Indeed, those who were there took the advice warmly and made personal commitments to spiritual growth.

The participants of the trip left the Ohel feeling elevated and rejuvenated.
