Bruriah Middle School Visits City of Brotherly Love

Bruriah’s sixth and seventh graders visited the City of Brotherly Love for a end-of-year trip. The Eastern State Penitentiary, a former American prison, was the students’ first stop. Ariella Lev, a sixth grader shared this observation, “The cells are very small. I can barely sit in class for a day; how did prisoners do it for a year?” After lunch, the students visited the National Constitution Center to see Freedom Rising, a 360-degree live theatrical production that tells the story of the U.S. Constitution and the American quest for freedom. Seventh grader Naama Kapustin said, “It’s cool to see exhibits about things you learned about.” The students stopped for Mincha at Mikveh Israel before finishing the trip at the Ben Franklin Museum. Following dinner at Park Place the students returned to Bruriah.
