Camp Gan Israel Tenafly’s older division, under the leadership of Lubavitch on the Palisades’ Rabbi Yossi Katz, opened its 2020 summer program on Monday in Alpine Scout Camp. New experiences for all include scouting activities like archery, survival skills, hiking, a weekly campfire and visits to the Alpine Scout Camp’s awesome outdoor fort, pirate ship and BB gun range. These are added to regular CGI activities like tefillah, swimming, sports, art, ceramics, cooking and Zumba. The boys and girls have their temperatures checked each day before entering camp and were placed in approximately 10-person bunks with counselors as a COVID-19 family unit, with masking and social distancing protocols in place for all scout leaders and staff.
