The event, which honored the power of “Ezrah Time,” was a heartwarming celebration of individuals who selflessly devote their time and professional expertise to uplift those in need, ensuring Project Ezrah continues to be a steadfast neighbor in the community.
The evening’s theme, “Ezrah Time,” highlighted the extraordinary contributions of community members who step up in the darkest moments to provide light, hope and practical support. These individuals generously give not just their skills but also their compassion, strengthening Project Ezrah’s mission to support families facing financial, employment and other challenges.
This year’s honorees epitomized the spirit of “Ezrah Time”:
Malca and Rabbi Haim Jachter, pillars of wisdom and guidance, were celebrated for their lifelong dedication to education and community leadership. Rabbi Jachter, rav of Congregation Shaarei Orah, a respected dayan and rebbe at TABC, and Malca, a mentor and advocate for personal growth, embody the values of selflessness and support that define Project Ezrah.
Chaya and Shaya Birnbaum were honored for their unwavering commitment to volunteerism and hands-on involvement. Through their generosity and warm spirits, they have provided countless families with a lifeline of support and encouragement, making a lasting impact.
Jay H. Guttmann and SRG Advisors, LLC, a financial advisor, CPA and community leader, was recognized for his professional contributions to Project Ezrah’s pro bono provider network. His expertise and dedication have empowered families to navigate financial challenges and build sustainable futures.
Risa Krohn, a mentor and advocate, was celebrated for her tireless efforts to uplift others. Risa’s heartfelt dedication to helping families via her life coaching has been a source of strength for many, and her example continues to inspire.
The dinner was more than just an evening of recognition; it was a testament to the power of community. Guests enjoyed dinner, moving speeches and a chance to celebrate the collective strength of Bergen County’s Jewish community.
