Dr. Wisotsky would have us sit back and let another cataclysmic change far in the future unfold as others have in the past (“Climate Hysteria Lacks a Sense Of Historical Perspective” August 3, 2023). What if his so-called anonymous experts are wrong, and the earth will undergo an unimaginable force sooner than later. Moreover, are we to sit back as the earth warms and as a result people die? Do not we as Jews subscribe to the saying: “For anybody who destroys a single life it is counted as if he destroyed an entire world, and for anybody who preserves a single life it is counted as if he preserved an entire world?” Ultimately, we must choose the appropriate path.
