Congregation Bnai Yeshurun Adult Education Committee is pleased to welcome Rabbi Jeremey Wieder as scholar-in-residence on Shabbat, July 24. Rabbi Wieder will speak at 6:45 p.m. on “When Torah and Science Collide—The Response of Poskim to a Changed Science and its Application to Halakhah,” and following 7:45 p.m. Mincha, Rabbi Wieder will address “Lifnim Mishurat HaDin—Why Is It So Important and Is It Actionable?”

Rabbi Wieder is a professor of Talmud at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University and an adjunct professor of Bible at Yeshiva College. He is the scholar-in-residence at Congregation Kehillath Jeshurun in Manhattan. A graduate of Yeshiva College, he was ordained by RIETS and holds a PhD in Jewish studies from New York University.
