This summer, Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp is in its eighth season with a record enrollment of over 350 campers.
Picture day was a highly respectable affair at Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp. The following public officials joined the campers and staff for picture day: Mayor John Cosgrove; County Clerk John Hogan; Dr. Joan Voss, chairwoman, Board of Chosen Freeholders; Tom Sullivan, member Board of Chosen Freeholders; Dr. Tim Eustace, assemblyman, 38th District; Jean Jadevaia, assistant to Sheriff Michael Saudino. The children presented Mayor Cosgrove with a cake in honor of his 60th birthday and proclamations were presented to the camp declaring July 20, 2015 as Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp Day in Bergen County.
Bris Avrohom of Fair Lawn operates the Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp under the direction of Rabbi Mendel & Mrs. Elke Zaltzman. The center provides services to the Jewish Russian community whose members came to America for a better future.
The camp is located on the beautiful campus of Yeshivat Noam in Paramus. Campers are enjoying the pleasantries of summer with swimming, exciting trips, arts and crafts and sports. Hot lunches are served daily, as is nourishment for the soul with teachings about basic knowledge of Judaism, Jewish history, stories and background information about the Jewish holidays.
The increase in registration each summer by word of mouth attests to the success of the day camp.
