Teaneck resident Shlomo Mizrahi has been in the jewelry business since 1972 and launched a unique and beautiful sideline in the 1990s. He can take a photographic image and perfectly render it on a silver kiddush cup or necklance pendant. While silver is traditional for cups, the pendants are also available in 14K white gold, 14K yellow gold and 14K rose gold, and in various shapes and sizes.
“It’s a unique and perfect gift for any occasion,” Mizrahi told The Jewish Link. “The pendant and kiddush cup comes with a lifetime guarantee. The engraved picture never fades or changes in any way,” he explained. The images can be placed on any size pendant or cup, and many special requests can be honored.
To order a keepsake or gift, the picture should be emailed or uploaded to Mizrahi’s website; different images from separate pictures can be combined, or individuals can be isolated from a group photograph to create a personalized, customized gift. Mizrahi can also create montages by bringing together different photographs on the same pendant and he can also create two-sided pendants.
“The engraved photo on the cup or pendant will look exactly like the picture, though a better picture will render a better pendant,” Mizrahi explained. Black-and-white photos appear on the metal exactly as they do in the image; color pictures becomes a two-toned engraved image. “I can’t accept every picture, because the quality has to be high for the image to be rendered well.”
