This past week, Heichal HaTorah hosted its annual Father-Son learning program. Following davening, the crowd enjoyed a delicious breakfast, during which Heichal Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aryeh Stechler delivered an inspiring address. His speech highlighted the message of Chanukah: to keep the inner flame alive and channel it towards Hashem and Yiddishkeit.
After breakfast, the fathers of ninth-grade and 10th-grade talmidim joined their sons’ daily iyun shiur, delving into sources prepared in advance by the son’s rebbeim. Each rebbe then delivered a shiur reviewing the sources and bringing them together for an inspiring takeaway. It was heartwarming to witness the excitement and passion permeating the beis medrash and classrooms throughout the building as fathers and sons learned b’chavrusa together.
Meanwhile, 11th-grade and 12th-grade talmidum and their fathers attended a shiur klali on the sugya of kibbud av va’em from Rav Dovid Goldman, menahel of Judaic Studies. The program was a truly meaningful experience, allowing fathers to not only get a glimpse into a typical day at Heichal but also to spend quality time with their sons immersed in Torah learning.
